iman Designs began in 2020, in a small Muscat studio, from one question: where is the modest wardrobe for a woman who refuses to disappear inside her own clothes? Drawing on a Sudanese heritage of textile and form, Eiman showed “Roots” at Modest Fashion Week Riyadh and “Peace” in Oman — learning, each time, what she did not want to make.
What remained was the discipline. Sleeves that hold their cuff, skirts that fall, pockets always. Each garment is made in the UAE, in runs of roughly fifty — the slowest way to build a house, and the only one we want.
